2020 WAA SPRING SHOW and SALE

Call for Artists

Registration opens January 6, 2020

Congratulations to Beccy Bucci on the selection of her mixed media work ‘Time for a Refreshing Beverage’ for the 38th Spring Show poster. Wilmington Art Association (WAA) invites artists to submit work for its 38th Annual Juried Spring Show and Sale. This show will be open March 28 -April 5, 2020 in Wilmington, NC during the annual North Carolina Azalea Festival. The juror/judge for this show will be Katherine Wolf Webb.

Submissions may be made from 6 January through 16 February 2020. The show is open to all artists 18 years of age and older and will include original works in painting, pastel, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital imaging, fiber art, mixed media and three-dimensional work. Monetary and merchandise awards will be in excess of $4000. Start your creative engines and get ready to register for the show beginning Monday, January 6th.

3rd Annual Art & The Bloom

January 9 – 12, 2020

Be sure to put this beautiful event on your calendar and support the many WAA artists whose work will be on display and for sale at Blockade Runner in Wrightsville Beach.

Spring Show Poster Contest

November 1 – December 2, 2019

Time to send in your entry for the WAA Spring Show poster contest. All subjects, mediums and styles are considered so whether you work abstract or photorealistic, photography or paint, 2D or 3D, send in your best work. A committee will select from your submissions and the winner’s image will be used for all the show posters, invitations and other publicity material. Your original will be featured during the show and must be available for sale. The winner will be announced at our Holiday Dinner.

The Power of Pastels

Workshop with Jeri Greenberg

The WAA is pleased to offer a pastel workshop with noted artist Jeri Greenberg. Painting with pastels is a wonderful experience whether you are an old hand or want to explore a new-to-you medium.
